You and I have something in common – the love for dogs. Not just one sort of dog, but big dogs, little dogs, purebreds and mixed. They bring us joy, companionship, laughter, and most of all LOVE.
As an avid animal lover, I’ve owned precious pets my whole life. From dogs and cats, to birds, fish, gerbils, turtles, and a crawdad or two. I’ve enjoyed them all, in one way or another.
I love to write, and am a copywriter by trade. So, I married up my love for dogs and my love for writing and, low and behold, here we are.
I spent summers as a youth on my grandparent’s ranch in Agra, Oklahoma where I grew to love plowing, harvesting, riding horses, and working cattle. “Papa” had border collies he taught to herd his cattle. It amazed me each time I watched them in action; how they maneuvered, and their focus on getting the job done. And most of all, the way they followed his commands.
One border collie, Debbie, was especially motivated to get the cattle to go where she wanted them. Occasionally I would see her grab one of the cow’s tails and appear to “ski’ across the pasture. It was surely a site to see. (The cows didn’t seem too bothered, they just went where she directed them to go.)
I hope you’ll join me in the world of dogs where we’ll take a step into dog personalities and traits, as well as their health, fun stories and pictures.
